Truchas Preschool
The Truchas Pre-School serves children from the communities of Truchas, Ojo Sarco, Cordova, Rio Chiquito and Chimayo, providing supervision and appropriate curriculum for children ages 3 to 5 years old. The mission of the Pre-School program is "Children learning through playing".
This bilingual program, that is not income based, provides social, developmental and language skills. Our goal is for students to be ready to transition to kindergarten when they graduate.
The Truchas Pre-School is licensed by N.M ECECD as a child-care center and meets state licensing requirements for quality, health and safety standards. The center is licensed to serve 17 children.
Operating continuously since 1972, the program was initially called "El Lugar de Los Ninos", later becoming Truchas Daycare, with the emphasis on offering a preschool curriculum, the program became The Truchas Pre-School.
